Land Use

Building Developer Presentation Guidelines

Our Land Use and Economic Development (LUED) committee regularly reviews developer applications. To help streamline the process, we've created the form below to submit basic project information prior to a LUED meeting.

We generally ask that applicants conduct outreach to the stakeholders within 500' (minimum) of the project before meeting with the LUED committee. Usually this consists of mailing a description of the project, developer contact/feedback information, and meeting details of their LUED hearing. We also often ask that the applicant post a four foot by four foot sign on the proposed property, describing the project and providing a contact phone and email address.

If you have questions, please contact us at landusechair@soronc.org.

SORO NC Land Use Committee Worksheet

Notice to Applicants: All documents, including worksheet and drawings, must be submitted electronically to the Land Use Committee at least 14 days prior to the meeting. Non-compliance will result in your submission being automatically carried forward to the next regularly scheduled meeting where the committee has the data for at least 14 days.

Land Use and Economic Development Committee

Land Use and Economic Development Committee

The South Robertson Neighborhoods Council’s Land Use and Economic Development (LUED) Committee was formed with a mission to preserve the character of the SORO neighborhoods while balancing the mandate of Los Angeles City Council for more urban infill and density. The LUED Committee works with the City Planners, Developers, the Community and Your Council Offices to create and maintain the vision that is SORO.

We also look at ways to bring economic development to the area. Our latest project is making Pico Boulevard a restaurant destination from La Cienega Boulevard to Beverwil Drive. We have been working with restaurant owners and the Bureau of Engineering to create an outdoor, café dining experience through permitting and the great Southern California weather.

Our job would not be possible without the help and support of stakeholders like yourselves. We instruct applicants before meeting with the LUED Committee that they outreach to the stakeholders surrounding the project. We ask that the applicant posts a four foot by four foot sign on the proposed property and to mail a notice of the proposed project and when they are appearing before the LUED Committee. (To help streamline the process for project developers, we have an online form here.) We depend upon stakeholder input to help guide our decisions. If you have comments or questions for current or future projects, or general questions, feel free to contact us at landusechair@soronc.org.
