Recently, the City recently launched an emergency supplemental meal program for older adults 60+ in light of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible older adults can receive up to (2) FREE meals per day delivered to their homes up until June 2022.
The Los Angeles Department of Aging has been working with several Council Districts one-by-one to assist in identifying constituents who are 60+ that may benefit in utilizing the Senior Emergency Meal Program. At this time, they would like to extend outreach effort to all of our Neighborhood Councils across LA City to reach as many Older Adults as possible. Please see the information below regarding more details:
-Must reside in the City of Los Angeles
Please inform organizations, senior housing facilities, non-profits, churches, and/or any other programs who serve Older Adults 60+ of this program in your communities in which you serve and refer clients to the Senior Emergency Meals Hotline at: 213-202-5669
-Once clients sign up, they will be added to the program the following week
-7 meals in one box (some breakfast/lunch) delivered once per week
-New clients= 14 meals distributed 2x per week
-A robo call will be made to each client the day before delivery
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for all that you do to serve your community!
