2010 SoRo Community Festival

The 13th Annual SoRo Community Festival will take place on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 11 am to 4 pm. The Festival is located on South Robertson Boulevard, between Cattaraugus and Beverlywood St. (just north of Hamilton High School and the 10 Freeway).

The goals of the SoRo Community Festival are to build bridges amongst our neighbors, local businesses and public service organizations and to celebrate the cultural diversity of our community. The Festival will include activities for kids, ethnic food, a live music stage and lots of exciting artist and vendor booths. Plus this year, the Festival will feature as special section where you can obtain free information regarding Emergency Preparedness for you and your family.

Admission to the Festival is FREE. Street parking is available. We look forward to seeing you at this year's festival!

SORO NC Green Team at the Festival

The SoRo Festival will also feature special section on Green Living, where you can receive information on how to live a more Green lifestyle. The SoRo Community and Los Angeles City Council Members Herb J. Wesson, Jr. and Paul Koretz will be presenting a special Green Business Award to Vons for their commitment to living a greener lifestyle.

Free stuff

We will be giving away free, re-usuable grocery bags filled with goodies AND a free raffle ticket for one Biostack Compost Bin, Earth Machine Compost Bin, Worm Bin, Pound of Worms, and Rain Capture Barrel.

Green your home

For those not lucky enough to win a free bin or barrel, we will be taking orders for CITY OF LOS ANGELES compost bins and worm bins. We will not be taking cash, only checks, so bring your checkbook.

We will also be taking orders for WORMS. Christel Wilson of "Simply Worms" is offering them to our neighbors for $20/ pound. Again, no cash, check only.

All orders will be available for pick up locally, on Sunday, June 13th.

Recycling opportunities

Bring in your old, dead CELL PHONES and WINE CORKS. The Green Team will recycle them for you!
