The South Robertson Neighborhood Council (SORO NC) along with LA's 98 other Neighborhood Councils, form the grassroots level of the City's government. While SORO NC board members serve their community without pay, they are public officials elected by the stakeholders of their community. The SORO NC General Board consists of twenty-four elected stakeholders, and one Board appointed Student (14 up to 18 years old).
SORO NC terms are four years, and the open seats are listed below.
Zone 2 Representative- Boundaries are North: Pico Blvd., South: Pickford St., East: La Cienega Blvd., West: Robertson Blvd.
Zone 4 Representative- Boundaries are North: Sawyer St., South: Cadillac Ave., East: La Cienega Blvd., West: Robertson Blvd.
Zone 6 Representative- Boundaries are North: 10 Freeway, South: Eastbound Robertson Blvd. off ramp, Robertson Blvd., Culver City border, East: La Cienega Blvd., West: 10 Freeway
Zone 8 Representative- Boundaries are North: (going east) Sawyer St. at the Hillcrest Country Club border, Castle Heights Ave., Bolton Rd., Sawyer St., South: Cattaraugus Ave., extending West to Anchor Ave., East: Robertson Blvd. West: Southeast boundary of Hillcrest Country Club, Anchor Ave.
Zone 10 Representative- Boundaries are North: Beverly Hills Border/Gregory Way, South: Pico Blvd., East: La Cienega Blvd., West: Robertson Blvd.

The SORO NC Elections will be held IN-PERSON Sunday, March 26th, 2023 from 10am-4pm at the Robertson Recreation Center and will be conducted by the Los Angeles City Clerk's Office.
If you prefer to Vote-By-Mail, you must first request a Vote-by-Mail (VBM) ballot. The application for the VBM Ballot can be made by submitting information online or by submitting a paper application, following these steps:

If you have successfully completed the vote-by-mail application, you should receive your ballot in the mail between February 24 and March 7, 2023. (In the event that you do not receive a ballot, make an error while voting the ballot, or receive the wrong ballot, you must contact the City Clerk to request a replacement ballot before March 14, 2023. Definitions:
Stakeholder: A Stakeholder is anyone who lives, works, or owns real property within the SORO NC's boundaries, and does not have to be a citizen of the United States. A Stakeholder who participates in the elections must be a minimum of 16 years old. You may vote for Candidates in any of the Open Board Seats.
Community Interest Stakeholder: Is a person that does NOT live, work or own property within the SORO NC region. However, this individual has some other connection to the community. (Examples of Community Organizations may include Chambers of Commerce, houses of worship or other faith-based organizations, educational Approved by Dept. of Neighborhood Empowerment 7.1.22 5 institutions, or non-profit organizations. See Los Angeles Charter Section 906(a)(2) and Los Angeles Administrative Code Section 22.801.1.) You may only vote for Candidates in the At-Large Representative section.

Vote-By-Mail: To receive a ballot that will allow Stakeholders to vote-by-mail, the City Clerk requires registering for an application. The application period starts on 1/25/2023 and ends on 3/7/2023. Visit How How To Vote to file for an application. The deadline to submit (postmark on or before) a Vote-by-Mail ballot is 3/14/2023.
How to Create an ANGELENO Account: Voters who wish to complete a Vote-by-Mail (VBM) Application online must first create an Angelino Account at https://angeleno.lacity.org/ (you will receive an email confirmation.) After creating an account, voters can access the NC Portal to apply for a NC Ballot. To access the NC Portal complete the following steps: (1) Click on the ‘Register Today’ button and enter the following information: a. Email Address b. Password c. First and Last Name (2) An email will be sent to the voter confirming creation of the account. Voters must verify email address and activate account, by clicking "Activate Account" in email. (3) Click ‘Services’ to get access to the NC Portal.
When creating a new user profile, it is strongly suggested that voters write down their login information. City Clerk staff will be available throughout the candidate filing period, during regular City business hours, to assist voters with their filing. Stakeholders will be able to track the status of their application and ballot in the NC VBM Application Portal.
