The Education Committee focuses on just that: creating or funding programs related to the public schools within the SORO boundaries, particularly Shenandoah Elementary, Canfield Elementary, Castle Heights Elementary and Hamilton High School.
Its key program is the mentoring program at Shenandoah—volunteers work once a week with assigned students on math and reading skills, preparing the students for the middle school curriculum. If you are interested in becoming a mentor and have one hour a week to commit, learn more about the mentorship program here.
