1. Lock Up: Ensure all doors and windows in your home are securely locked, including any entry
points to your garage.
2. Exterior Lights: Turn on exterior lights or install motion-activated lights to deter potential
intruders.
3. Car Security: Lock your car doors and roll up the windows. Avoid leaving valuables in your
vehicle.
4. Garage: Secure your garage by locking it and double-checking that any garage door openers
are out of sight.
5. Key Management: Keep spare keys in a secure location inside your home, not easily
accessible from outside.
6. Curtains/Blinds: Close curtains or blinds to prevent anyone from looking inside your home.
7. Security System: If you have a security system, make sure it's armed.
8. Outdoor Surveillance: If you have security cameras, ensure they are operational and
monitoring key areas.
This quick routine helps establish a habit of basic security measures that can significantly reduce
the risk of home and vehicle break-ins.
