Weingart Center - Shelby Interim Housing Update

I am writing to provide you with a brief update on our efforts for the Shelby Interim Housing development located at 3340 Shelby drive.  Due to the recent fires, all projects were backed up with the City’s planning department which caused a delay in the start of construction.  However, WCA is back on track and moving forward.  Below is the schedule for construction and completion. 

• General Contractor will mobilize the week of February 17^th.
• Roof demolition to begin week of April 2^nd, installation to be complete week of April 15^th.
• Exterior demolition, excluding roof, to begin week of February 17^th, to be completed week of March 17^th. (the only significant item for this is the demolition of the balconies.)
• Work on exterior common areas on National to start the last week of March.
• Construction to be completed in mid-November 2025.

Additionally, WCA has hired APS Security, led by Vernon Rosado, to monitor the site now, during construction and once opened.
