The Leisure Spaces committee’s focus is on issues that are strictly related to Leisure activities within the Soro NC boundaries. This will include the Robertson Branch of the Public Library and those portions of the Department of Parks and Recreation that are within our boundaries. Exclusions are sanitation services, parking enforcement, and code violations. If these exclusions involve the health or safety of stakeholders using these facilities, administrators
and/or employees of the facilities, or residents of property adjacent to these facilities; the Committee will share joint responsibility along with the other relevant SORO NC Committee.
Stakeholders are eligible to become members of the committee by attending at least one meeting of the Leisure Spaces Committee meetings prior to the meeting during which they request membership. They can request to become a member during the general public comment period of a committee meeting. They become a member when a vote of the committee approves their membership by a majority. Stakeholder members who have missed
five meetings in a calendar year will be removed from committee membership.
The Leisure Spaces Committee conducts its business by reviewing and prioritizing agenda requests for Board action (generally either in the form of a motion or letter) or announcements submitted by stakeholders, governmental entities and other interested individuals and organizations. Leisure Spaces Committee Committee has the discretion to postpone a request, refer it to a specific committee for review and recommendation, treat it as an announcement or consider and resolve it as a non-Board administrative matter.
