Advisory: Dangerous Heat Affecting the City of Los Angeles

Dangerous heat for the LA Region is expected from tomorrow through at least Monday.

Los Angeles is expecting another heat wave from Saturday, October 5 at 10AM until Monday, October 7 at 8PM. The City of Los Angeles has air-conditioned cooling centers at designated Recreation and Parks facilities open 10am-8pm. In addition, the Los Angeles Public Library’s branches also serve as cooling centers during their regular business hours.

This is to inform you that the Department of Transportation, Parking Enforcement and Traffic Control Division will relax enforcement of street cleaning, time limit and preferential parking restrictions as requested during the dates and times listed below.

As a reminder, any additions to this memorandum must be added by council district personnel via the City Council approved parking exception database. Any new locations must be entered into the database prior to the effective current holidays below.

PLEASE NOTE: METERS, TOW AWAY ZONES, AND OTHER SAFETY VIOLATIONS WILL BE ENFORCED
Rosh Hashanah: Wednesday, October 2nd, 1:00 PM to Saturday, October 5th, 1:00 AM
Yom Kippur: Friday, October 11th, 1:00 PM to Saturday, October 13th, 1:00 AM
Sukkot: Wednesday, October 16th, 1:00 PM to Wednesday, October 24th, 1:00 AM
Shemini Atzeret & Simchat Torah: Wednesday, October 23rd, 1:00 PM to Saturday, October 26th, 1:00 AM

Western Area:
All areas of the City of Los Angeles bounded by Doheny Dr. (west), Vine St./Rossmore Ave./Queen Anne Pl. (east), Santa Monica Blvd. (north), and Pico Blvd. (south).
